The purpose of agricultural tractors

The main purpose of agricultural tractors is to complete agricultural operations such as plowing, sowing, towing agricultural machinery, and short distance transportation. Its core value lies in improving agricultural production efficiency. Specifically, it can be divided into the following aspects:

Core functions

1. Cultivation and planting

Farmland: By using agricultural tools such as traction plows and rotary tillers to plow and loosen the soil, the soil structure can be improved. For example, plowing depth can reach 18-22 centimeters, suitable for returning straw to the field; Rotary tillage is more suitable for shallow soil treatment. ‌

Sowing: Automated sowing equipment can quickly complete the planting of field crops, significantly improving efficiency compared to traditional manual methods.

2. Traction of multifunctional agricultural tools

Joint operation: Tractors can be adapted to equipment such as harvesters, fertilizing machines, and crop protection machines to achieve joint operations such as harvesting, fertilizing, and pest control.

Silage and packaging: The traction baler can compress crop straw into cylindrical or rectangular bales for easy storage and transportation, especially suitable for the production of silage feed in pastures.

3. Short distance transportation

Used for the transportation of goods within farmland or between villages, such as transporting grain, agricultural materials, or agricultural products (such as vegetables) to the market.

Segmented scenario application

Special farmland operations: Depending on the terrain and crop types, tractors can be adapted to paddy fields, sloping fields, or horticultural fields, respectively suitable for scenarios such as rice paddies, hillsides, orchards, and nurseries. ‌

Large scale agriculture: High horsepower tractors (such as 120 horsepower or more) can efficiently complete tasks such as deep plowing and land leveling on super large farms, and even participate in agricultural water conservancy projects. ‌

Technology Extension and Challenges

At present, the use of agricultural tractors also faces problems such as soil compaction, and long-term shallow rotary tillage may lead to a decrease in soil fertility, which needs to be improved by combining deep tillage techniques. In addition, different horsepower models are adapted to different operational requirements, such as:

Small tractor (below 30 horsepower): suitable for gardening and yard work;

Medium sized tractor (50-80 horsepower): capable of completing composite tasks such as tillage and plant protection in medium-sized farmland.

The supporting tools and technologies such as rotary tillers, silage feed, and plowing techniques have further expanded the application scenarios of tractors.
